What we have done before the workshop:
- Plugged in and set up the Harvester (the prefabricated box with a bunch of Arduinos and a Raspberry Pi inside)
- Added you all to the WordPress site as Contributors
- Gave you all links to the various sites
- Programmed the Arduinos ahead of time
Everyone split into four teams to complete this workshop. You can look through the docs for anything that you get stuck on. We link to the specific parts of the documentation that you will need in parenthesis below.
What you need to do as a team is:
- If you haven’t already, go into your email and accept the invitation to join the sustainable.scholar.bucknell.edu WordPress site.
- Have at least one person log into the dashboard and get permission (dashboard docs)
- Wait to get an email once we approve you.
- Create a project named “Group # Project” using the dashboard(where # is the number you are assigned) (main parts of dashboard docs)
- Claim your assigned Arduino (claim an arduino docs)
- Insert your sensor into your potted plant!
- Go look at the gauge chart to watch real-time readings (visualization docs). You can remove and insert the sensor to see the changes!
- Add a gauge chart to your WordPress page (inserting visualizations docs)
- Go into the dashboard and add all the information for the project you have created. Make it public and under the greenhouse site. Then go to the landing page and click on the greenhouse marker and see your contribution!
- If you have time, reprogram the Arduino with this sample code that is in the email (remote code upload docs)
